On September 10, Apple will unveil in all likelihood three new iPhone, and it’s Watch Series 5. According to MacRumors, Apple TV could also be entitled to their moment of glory.
According to a Twitter account @never_released aka Longhorn, which once broadcasted information about code names and non-advertised product info, an Apple TV 11.1 appears in the code of iOS 13. It responds to the code name J305. Longhorn also believes that this new version of the Apple TV box will be equipped with an A12 chip. We could hope to find an A12X since the issue of reduced consumption, and heat dissipation is not as restrictive as in an iPad.
The Apple TV currently ships the A10X Fusion chip (and 32 or 64 GB of storage). Launched in September 2017, it has not been updated for two years, which is the usual cycle of upgrades in recent generations.
With the upcoming arrival of Apple TV + and Arcade, respectively the video-on-demand service and the subscription game service of the Cupertino company, an update could be welcome.
