Uber customers receive a pin code as extra security

The Uber taxi service sets a pin code as extra security. This is to prevent people getting into the car with the wrong person.

This pin code can be set in the Uber app. Users can choose to use the PIN code with every trip or only at night. When the driver is en route to the location, the user receives a four-digit pin code. This must be passed on to the driver. Only when this has happened can the ride be released, Uber explains.

The pin code could already be used in Canada and the United States. But now also in the Netherlands. Everything for safety.
