AMD renews its Ryzen processors at CES 2022. The Ryzen 6000 were introduced in their mobile versions to power the 2022 laptops.
The new AMD CPUs are based on the Zen 3+ architecture, built under a 6 nanometer process and, much more striking, RDNA 2 graphics.
The change promises up to 30% less battery use in laptops in video conferencing and 15% less consumption when browsing the web.
Ryzen 6000 mobile processors will arrive in more than 20 models and will have up to 8 cores.
Gamers smile
The move to RDNA 2 for graphics is a huge leap for AMD, as shown in the company’s presentation.
A laptop with the integrated graphics of the Ryzen 7 6800U processor far outperforms NVIDIA’s GeForce MX450 dedicated graphics, as shown.
In the midst of a semiconductor crisis, it is good news to find acceptable gaming performance in laptops with integrated graphics.
And more
Ryzen 6000 processors include support for USB 4.0, PCI-E Gen4, DDR5 RAM, WiFi 6E, HDMI 2.1, and the AV1 encoder for video.
The Ryzen 6000 will be available in laptops that will hit the market starting in February.
