After the new Premium update, Durov said that although the tests they have carried out with advertising on public channels have been successful, he is convinced that the platform should be financed mainly by its users and not by advertisers. “That way our users will always remain our priority,” said the founder.
The first version of Telegram was released on August 14, 2013 for iOS, followed by an Android app two months later.
